It is within easy reach of Normandy's many famous sites such as Mont Saint-Michel, the D-Day landing beaches, the Bayeux tapestry, the Peace Museum in Caen or the Channel Islands. The Cotentin peninsula also harbours some remarkable historical sites (churches, abbeys) and exceptional protected nature reserves (Regional Natural Reserve of Cotentin and the Bessin swamps, Tatihou Island and coastal paths).
